The Rolls Royce Competition 2010

“Passionate about automotive design since I was 13…”

Love Car Design Too?

I created this model in 2010 with Microsoft Paint. It’s amazing what MS Paint is capable of. The car is a mixture of sports car an the 1960s’ Batmobile car.

In UX Design just like in Automotive Design, there’s a lot of iteration that goes on until you have a polished product. You refine, test and iterate again. It’s a never-ending process. A new car model is always an iteration from its old version.

Patrick Le Quément

Patrick Le Quément was the “chief designer” of the Ford Germany Design Center in 1983. He is the man behind the futuristic design of the Ford Sierra which was praised in automotive publications in the 80s.

My science and technology teacher in the first year of high school was a friend of his. He put me in touch with him after I showed him some sketches of car models I made during a break from class.

I exchanged a few letters with him, and I received an invitation to an open day of the Ford Design Zentrum in Cologne to visit their location. I was in a boarding school and I couldn’t attend and meet the man himself. You can learn more about Patrick Le Quément and his incredible career here.
